POS Cart & Checkout

The POS cart is where you build each customer's bill. Search or scroll to add products, adjust quantities (including halves and quarters for weight-based items), select the customer, pick a payment method, and complete the order. WhatsApp invoice and UPI QR code sharing are built right into the checkout flow.

stepByStep

1

Open a new sale

Tap POS → Sales (or the "+" button on mobile). The sales screen shows your product grid and an empty cart drawer. You can search by product name, SKU, or scan a barcode.

2

Add items to the cart

Tap any product card to add it to the cart. Each tap adds one unit. The cart drawer slides up from the bottom showing the running total. Tap the cart drawer to expand it and see all items.

3

Adjust quantity and quantity multiples

In the cart, use the − and + buttons next to each item. For weight-based or loose items, the quantity step is controlled by the product's Quantity Multiple: 1 = whole units only (e.g. 1, 2, 3), 2 = halves allowed (e.g. 0.5, 1, 1.5 kg), 4 = quarters allowed (e.g. 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 kg). Tap the quantity number directly to type an exact value.

4

Select a customer

Tap "Select Customer" at the top of the cart. Search by name or phone number. If the customer is new, tap "Add New Customer", enter their name and mobile number, and save. Walk-in customers can be left as "Walk-in" — no customer selection required.

Choose a payment method

Tap "Checkout". Select the payment method: Cash, Card, UPI, or Other. You can choose more than one to split payment (e.g. partial UPI + cash for the balance).

6

Accept cash payment

Select "Cash". Enter the amount the customer hands over. The app automatically calculates and displays the change to return. Tap "Confirm" to complete.

Accept UPI payment

Select "UPI". A dynamic QR code is generated with your UPI ID and the exact payable amount pre-filled. Show the screen to the customer or tap "Share QR via WhatsApp" to send it to their phone. Once you see the payment confirmation on your UPI app, tap "Mark as Paid".

proTips

Set the correct Quantity Multiple on each product (in the product editor) before using POS — changing it later does not affect past orders.
For grocery and kirana shops, use Quantity Multiple = 4 (quarters) for items like ghee, pulses, and oil sold by fraction of a kg.
Always save the customer's WhatsApp number when adding them — this makes the "Send Invoice" step one tap instead of typing a number every time.
The UPI QR code includes the exact amount due, so customers cannot accidentally pay the wrong amount.
Use "Other" payment method for credit/advance or cheque payments — add a note in the order to track the payment mode.
